3D Effect tab

3D Effect tab enables you to turn 2D shapes or text into 3D objects. By clicking on any of the shapes or text, the tab controls will be enabled and allow you to set all parameters regarding 3D option. All previously set effects (or the effects which will be applied later) such as color, transparency, plug-ins etc., will be visible in the newly created 3D object. In multi selection or selection of an Image, the control of this tab will be disabled, which means that 3D effects can be applied only on Shapes and Text objects. Below you will read which controls are built in this tab and the purpose for each of them.

Position

Using following controls you can determine position of an object in the space.

Camera X: Each 3D object can be rotated for 360 degrees (from -180 to 180 degrees) over both X and Y axes. This control enables rotation over X axis.
Camera Y: Each 3D object can be rotated for 360 degrees (from -180 to 180 degrees) over both X and Y axes. This control enables rotation over Y axis.
View angle: There are 4 angles of view: 45 degrees, 90 degrees, 135 degrees and Ortho. Each of these angles sets camera (viewer's eye) to the chosen view angle and provides interesting effects while displaying the object.

Lighting
Light effects can be applied on each 3D object. The following controls will help you obtain different light effects applied on the object.

Light intensity: Ambient light intensity, i.e. intensity of light in which the object is situated.
Shininess: Intensity of directional light pointed to the object. This is easiest to understand as the light coming from the flash lamp pointed to the object.
Light pos. H: Using light position controls it is possible to change the position of the directional light. This control rotates directional light over horizontal axis for 360 degrees (from -180 to 180 degrees).
Light pos. V: Using light position controls it is possible to change the position of the directional light. This control rotates directional light over vertical axis for 360 degrees (from -180 to 180 degrees).

Light color:

Using this combo box you can change the color of the directional light.

Depth
Depth can be added to any 3D object or you can apply different effects related to the depth of the chosen object.

Depth: Using this slider you set the object depth. Object depth can be between 1 and 100. If slider is set to 0, the chosen 3D object will not have depth.
Depth texture: Texture (i.e. image) can be added to depth of the object. By clicking this check box, the program will start standard Open dialog box where you can select image. Note: if you want the front and back sides of the object to have texture over them, you can do it in the Color tab and Image brush sub-tab.
Texture pos: Depth textures can have Side and Top positions, which you select using this combo box.
Depth color: If you want depth color of 3D object to be different from the front and back sides of the object, you can set the color in this combo box. Clicking the depth color check box, color combo box will be enabled and let you choose the desired color.
Reset button: Reset button will return 3D object to its original 2D shape or text.
