Create Time Dimension: Select Levels

identifies the levels for the time table.

Selected: Identifies the levels to be generated for the table. Deselect any levels that are not needed by your cubes.

Type: Lists the available levels of aggregation from the lowest (Day) to highest (Top).

Name: Identifies the name of the level. To edit the name, double-click the field.

Shared Across Hierarchies: Identifies the levels that can be shared across multiple hierarchies. Levels that cannot be shared and are already in use by another Time hierarchy are assigned unique names.

Typically, the lowest level is shared. Some hierarchies can share multiple levels at the lowest levels of aggregation, diverge for higher levels, and share the highest level. For example, Calendar and Fiscal years might share Day, Month, and Top.
