Use this dialog box to save an object description to a file either as XML or PL/SQL.
Location: Identifies the directory where the file is saved. You can change the directory by expanding the drop-down list, using the icons to the right, or selecting from the Directory Tree.
Directory Tree: Lists subdirectories and files under the Location directory. Selecting a subdirectory sets the value of Location. Selecting a file sets the value of File Name. To choose between seeing all files and only template files, set File Type.
The icons to the right of Location also control the content. The icons are identified by tool tips: Up one level, Desktop, Create new folder, List, and Details.
Object Selection: Shows the contents of the analytic workspace in a tree. You can verify or modify the selection of objects in this tree.
Options: Displays the following options for the metadata saved in the file:
Include Schema Name with OLAP Objects: Fully qualifies the names of all OLAP objects. Select this option so the template always re-creates the OLAP objects in the original schema. For example, you can re-create the GLOBAL
analytic workspace in the GLOBAL
schema while logged in as any user with the appropriate access rights. For portability, deselect this option so that the OLAP objects can be re-created in any schema. For example, you can re-create the GLOBAL
analytic workspace in the SCOTT
schema.
Source Object Option: Controls whether the XML descriptions of objects use the simple name or a fully qualified name:
Include Schema Name for All Source Objects: Fully qualifies the names of all relational tables and views in the mappings metadata, so that the cubes and dimensions are mapped to relational objects in the original schema. Select this option when re-creating an analytic workspace in the original schema or when the relational sources are available only in the original schema. For example, you can re-create the GLOBAL
analytic workspace in the GLOBAL
schema in the same database or in a different database. You can also re-create the GLOBAL
analytic workspace in the SCOTT
schema, and all objects will be mapped to tables in the GLOBAL
schema.
Do Not Include Schema Name for Source Objects Owned by schema_name: Fully qualifies only the names of relational tables and views in a different schema than the OLAP objects. The template maps the cubes and dimensions to relational source tables and views in the same schema unless the names are fully qualified. Select this option when the relational source will be re-created in a new schema along with the OLAP objects, but any other sources will be available only in their original schema. (Default)
Do Not Include Schema Name for Any Source Objects: Does not qualify the names of any relational source objects. The template maps the cubes and dimensions to relational source tables and views in the same schema.
Metadata Format: Select a metadata version for the template:
12.1 is the current version.
11.2.0.2 is backward compatible with Oracle Database 11.2.0.2.
11.2 is backward compatible with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.
11.1 is backward compatible with Oracle Database 11.1.
File Name: Enter the name of the XML file or select a file in the directory tree to overwrite it. By default, the object name is the file name with an xml extension.
File Type: Controls the files displayed in the directory tree. Select Template Files to see only XML files.
