Creating Build Specifications

Build specifications identify the steps of a build and the order in which they are executed. Every cube has a default build specification, but you can exercise more control by creating your own.

To create a build specification:

  1. In the Connections navigator, right-click the name of a cube.

  2. Choose Edit to display the Edit Cube dialog box.

  3. Select Build Specifications.

  4. In the Build Specifications panel, click the Add icon to create a build specification.

  5. Replace BUILDSPECIFICATIONn with a name of your choosing.

  6. Use the up and down arrows to change the execution order of the specifications (optional).

  7. In the Build Specification Commands panel, edit the default commands:

    • Double-click a command to add it to the specification. Use the dialog box that appears to customize the command.

    • Right-click anywhere in the editing panel for a list of editing tools or use the tool bar.

    • Check the syntax validator for errors.

  8. Click OK to save the build specification.
