Data Miner places a lock on a workflow, when the workflow is being edited by a user, or when the workflow is running or queued to run. Therefore, there is no issue with overwriting workflow definitions of other users when several users share a Data Miner user.
The name space for workflows is unique within a project. If each user prefixes their projects with their initials, or uses some other naming convention that identifies projects, users can easily identify their work.
With a single user account approach, you must recognize that all users share a single name space for database objects.
Data Miner has automatic naming standards that avoid collisions when model names or new table names are created. If a user overrides these conventions for a table name that other workflows are already referencing, the user is warned.
It is possible to overwrite names unless the team is careful about communicating conflicts of this sort.
All users can see which workflows are running from the shared account and can view or edit all workflows in the account, so there is no privacy to restrict access within a single user account. On the other hand, a single user account does make it extremely easily to collaborate.
