Create a User Account for Data Mining

If you have not yet created a user account, you must create at least one user account. If you created a user when you install Oracle Database, you can skip this step and install the repository using the GUI or scripts. When you install the repository, the existing user is automatically granted the rights required for Oracle Data Miner.

Follow these steps:

  1. Create an Administrative Database Connection, if you do not already have one.

  2. Create a user account. You can create the account when you install the database or you can Create a User Account Using SQL Developer.

It is not necessary to create a special user for Oracle Data Mining. rights are granted during installation.

  3. The connections that you define in the SQL Developer Connections navigator must be added to the Data Miner Navigator, as described in Add a Connection to the Data Miner Navigator.

Note:

If you are adding a new user, or if the repository is already installed, you must grant rights using scripts or the GUI.
