Home > Workflows > Using Workflows > Node Context Menu > Run
To run a node, select a node that is in the Ready state (not fully complete or invalid), right click the node, and select Run from the context menu.
The Data Miner server runs workflows asynchronously; the client does not have to be connected.
If all of the tasks in the node are complete, you are asked if you want to rerun the node. To avoid this question, use Force Run and pick Selected Node.
As the nodes run, their states may change. For information, see Node States.
After you select Run, the following happens:
The workflow is read-only while the server runs the workflow. You cannot edit a running workflow.
If the node selected to run has any upstream (parent) nodes that must run or must be validated, those nodes are run or validated.
The workflow is updated to reflect the progress of the run. All involved nodes highlighted in green. The currently running nodes are highlighted in bright green.
When a workflow completes running a node successfully, the node is updated with a completion indicator. If node execution fails, the node is marked with a red failure indicator, and a message is displayed.
When the workflow has completed running, Data Miner regains the workflow lock from the server; you can now edit the workflow.
See Running Workflows for more information. You can monitor progress using the Workflow Jobs.
