Home > Administer Data Miner > Manage Multiple Data Miner ...
There is only one Data Miner Respository in each database. You must create one account; you can create several accounts that do or do not share work, as follows:
One account used by all users of Data Miner.
Everyone can see the work of everyone else.
One account per user (unshared accounts).
Avoids any conflicts when users want to name their own objects. There is also complete privacy because each user account is under Oracle Database Security. However, users may need to share work easily.
Shared accounts for workgroups.
A set of shared accounts with proxy user authentication allows users in the same workgroup to actively share all work. Work is not shared among different workgroups. Each group has its own shared account, along with individual proxy users for all individuals.
To implement a scheme like this one, create a proxy user for each individual and one target user per workgroup. All individuals in a workgroup connect to the same target account. (The proxy account is used for authentication only. All work is performed by the target account.)
You can have a mixture of both shared and unshared accounts. In addition, all authentication could be performed using proxy user accounts, even for the unshared account scenario.
