Attributes provide additional information about the data. They correspond to columns in a dimension table or view.
To create an attribute:
In the Create/Edit Cube Dimension dialog box, select Attributes.
For the predefined attributes:
Select an attribute, such as SHORT_DESCRIPTION.
Select properties that are appropriate for your data. See Create/Edit Cube Dimension: Attributes.
Repeat these steps for all predefined attributes.
Click the Add icon to create an attribute.
Under Attribute Properties, replace the ATTRIBUTEx placeholders with meaningful values.
Select options appropriate to the data.
Click OK.
The cube dimension appears under Cube Dimensions in the Connections navigator. To view the levels, hierarchies, and attributes, select the cube dimension and use the tabs across the right pane.
