You can create a relational table containing time periods, which is mapped automatically to a specified time dimension. The time table provides the metadata required to support time-based analysis, such as end dates and time spans.
Note: You must be able to create a relationship between the generated time table and your relational fact tables for the time table to be useful. |
Analytic Workspace Name: The analytic workspace that contains the time dimension.
Table Name: The name of the relational table being created.
Start Date: The month, day, and year of the first time period.
Number of Years: The number of years of generated time data.
Create Hierarchy: Select this option to create a new time dimension hierarchy with the relational table automatically mapped as its source.
Dimension: The name of a time dimension in the selected analytic workspace.
Hierarchy: The name of a new hierarchy defined for the selected time dimension.
Show SQL: Displays the SQL statements that create or alter the table.
