A connection is a SQL Developer object that specifies the necessary information for connecting to a specific database as a specific user of that database. You must have at least one database connection (existing, created, or imported) to use SQL Developer.
Define an administrative database connection in the SQL Developer Connections navigator. Right-click Connections and select New Connection.
Create a connection with these properties:
Username must be SYS
Password is the Administrative password for the database used for data mining
Role is SYSDBA
Hostname, Port, and SID are the correct values for the database used for data mining.
Test the connection. If there are no problems, click Connect. Use this connection to run installation scripts.
